How do I apply for a job at your company?
Apply online through our careers page or TradeMe/Seek. Alternatively you can complete an application at the Niagara Sawmilling Main Office, 74 Kennington Road, Kennington. The office is open Monday to Friday 7am – 4:30pm

What qualifications or skills are you looking for in candidates?
If a role requires specific qualifications, licences or experience these will be noted in detail on the current vacancy listing.
For our Timber Technician positions and other roles, qualifications and experience may not be required. It is more important that you are reliable, enthusiastic and a team player. It is also important that you have your own reliable vehicle to travel to work in, as we do not encourage ride sharing.
What are the typical working hours?
We have a variety of shifts across departments; most shifts are either: 5 days per week working 8 hours a day plus overtime as required, or 4 days per week working 10 hours a day plus overtime as required.
If a role has a unique working pattern – ie a rotating roster, this will be included in the details on the listing on the current vacancies page.
Is there an age restriction for applying to positions?
You must be at least 16 years of age to apply with Niagara.
What is the recruitment process?

Do you offer a cadetship or apprenticeships?
We offer a cadetship and various apprenticeships, these will be listed on the current vacancies page as available. We also promote these opportunities to the local high schools encouraging local youth to grow their careers with Niagara.

How do you handle employee training and on boarding?
If you are successful with Niagara you will start your on boarding with a company induction where you will meet with an HR representative and your team leader. You will be able to sign your employment agreement at your induction. Our HR representative will cover pay cycles, our code of conduct, and our employee and employer expectations. Your team leader will then meet with you for the health and safety element of your company induction where you will also be fitted for your supplied PPE. Once in your area of work you will be trained, supported and encouraged until you feel confident. Our teams are incredibly team-centric and always happy to help one another.
How do you support professional development and growth?
Niagara offer a variety of training and development courses throughout the year, these include Leadership Training, Wellness Workshops, Language Training, NZQA qualifications relevant to departments, Microsoft training and much more!
