Sitting prominently in a new Mid-Canterbury subdivision this modern weatherboard home is a great example of the results achieved when combining components from the Envira system. Bevel back weatherboards, window sills, facing boards, box corners and a porch finished with Niagara’s laminated posts give a superb aesthetic finish only timber can provide.
Proud owner, Adrian Bruhns, built the house, and had many positive comments about cladding his home with Envira. “It was easy to install, lightweight and I could use normal tools and saws to install the whole system—plus the finger jointed boards were long length, meaning minimal joining for me,” he said. “Envira is a simple system to follow, easily painted and maintained. We’ve previously built another home for ourselves using this system and won’t use anything else as it’s so great. We also like that we can change colour when repainting, to match the latest trends.”
Envira finger jointed weatherboards are made from 100 per cent New Zealand pine and are only a third of the weight of fibre cement boards, though every bit as strong. They’re also easier to transport and manoeuvre than other products. Although the Bruhn’s section is not zoned TC3 the lightweight nature of Envira makes it ideal for use on single or two-storey buildings and is an approved cladding choice for TC3 zones.
